With over 12 new films premiering each month, The WORLD MOVIES Channel is the only place to find the very best of international cinema in the comfort of your own home.

The launch of Digital TV in March 2004 has enabled some positive developments for The WORLD MOVIES Channel including:
* crisper picture and audio quality - this makes a real difference to movies on TV.
* a new channel logo and vibrant broadcast look
* the channel’s inclusion in the major movie tiers, and
* true widescreen broadcast
The evolution to digital broadcasting in 2004 has meant that your television signal has evolved from the standard TV shape (4:3) to a widescreen (16:9) presentation.
At The WORLD MOVIES Channel we have always taken our movie presentation seriously which is why, under the older 4:3 analogue system, we letterboxed our movies so our viewers could still receive the full cinema-style movie picture.
Now we are broadcasting in 16:9 or true widescreen which means that for the growing number of people who have widescreen TVs, they can receive a full-screen picture. If you don’t have a widescreen TV, then the digital platform allows you to manually adjust your settings via your TV remote and on-screen menu (go to Set Up) to receive a 4:3 letterbox picture.
Please contact your subscription TV carrier if you would like further details on the signal you are receiving on your home TV.
If you’ve made it through to our website (www.worldmovies.net) then you can easily find all the information you need by simply going to our TV Guide.
But you can also look in other places such as 1) the listings in your monthly carrier programming magazine, 2) check your major metropolitan newspaper TV listings, 3) through the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) on your TV screen or 4) you could always register to receive our fortnightly WORLD MOVIES programming e-newsletter by going to Login and then registering your details.
Screening times can be found up to two months in advance in The WORLD MOVIES Channel website TV guide.
So our viewers have the opportunity to see a programme they enjoy, at a time that suits them. Just like a cinema, we screen movies at different times to provide you with viewing choice.
Please visit our Website Library where you can search for films using various search functions such as actor, director, year, genre etc.
We are always open to programming suggestions for the channel. To send us any ideas go to the "Contact Us" section of our website, and drop us your idea via the Suggestion Box and we will then do our best to accommodate.
The WORLD MOVIES Channel has a close working relationship with SBS even though we are separate business operations. For both organisations benefit, we jointly purchase many films where The WORLD MOVIES Channel has subscription TV rights and SBS has free-to-air TV rights. When this is the case, then typically The WORLD MOVIES Channel will broadcast such movies 12 months before they become available to SBS for broadcast.
