The WORLD MOVIES Channel Radar has been switched on and is sweeping the world’s film vaults for hidden cinematic gems, underground cuts and innovative eye candy.

The Radar: Located. Chosen. Screened.
From Byambasuren Davaa, writer/director of The Cave Of The Yellow Dog comes the 2005 Oscar®-nominated picture for Best Documentary about two young shepherds who call on the help of a musical healer in an attempt to reunite a newborn colt with the mother who rejected him.

Appearing at the 2004 Sydney Film Festival, this enchanting documentary follows the adventures of a family of herders in Mongolia's Gobi region who face a crisis when the mother camel unexpectedly rejects her newborn calf after a particularly difficult birth. The nomads send out their two youngest boys on a journey across the desert to call on the help of a musical healer to reunite mother and child.

A window into a different way of life and the universal terrain of the heart, The Story Of The Weeping Camel uses minimal dialogue which complements the film’s visually stunning appearance and delicate observations of an extraordinary event.
