French-Algerian director Tony Gatlif delivers Exiles a sexy, energetic road-trip starring Romain Duris and Lubna Azabal. Young lovers Zano and Nima embark on a road-trip in reverse, from Paris back to their parent’s homeland of Algeria. With no money they must scam their way along the journey towards spiritual rediscovery. Nominated for a 2004 César Award, the film boasts a diverse and soulful soundtrack, blending tunes from Morocco, Algeria, France and Spain.

Seduced by the idea of freedom, Bohemian couple Zano and Nima embark on a journey from Paris to Algeria to discover their identities in the land their parents were exiled from. Carrying backpacks and little money the two meander through Spain and south to Morocco welcomed by the invigorating music of the area, the vibrant colours, smells, tastes and breathtaking landscapes. The couple’s carefree spirits and Gypsy lifestyle make the anticipation for their parents’ homeland a rewarding experience.
