Waves of vengeance permeate a small Danish village when a pseudo-Nazi trucker kills the wife of an ex-army major and frames his crime on a Bosnian refugee suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome.
Italian heartthrob Stefano Accorsi stars in An Italian Romance a languid and sentimental period piece about a passionate love affair.
Set in Italy before WWII, father and husband Giovanni (Stefano Accorsi) works as a bank employee commuting each day by train. One day on his way to work he bumps into Maria (Maya Sansa) an attractive ex-girlfriend of his, who he hasn’t seen in years. Their passion for one another is reignited and they engage in a one-night stand, however, when Maria reappears again at the station their meetings become more frequent. While shopping in town one day Maria sees Giovanni celebrating his son’s birthday she realises their relationship has no future, and decides to cut all ties. It isn’t until nine years later they meet again by chance on the train, but time has changed them too much to rekindle their bittersweet love affair.
