Synopsis
An electrifying, sexy and adventurous tale based on the true story of Uschi Obermeier, a German model from the late ‘60s who was the first to pose nude on the cover of a magazine. Said to have cohorted with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, she travelled the world in search of as much adventure as humanly possible. Set to an amazing soundtrack with tunes from the ‘60s and ‘70s, Eight Miles High is a visually stunning, buoyant film full of beautiful people, sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll. In the midst of the Summer of eternal love and the times that were a changing, Uschi, this extraordinary girl from Munich was determined to find her true love.
Uschi Obermeier, a confident young female, discovered early on in life that she drove men wild. Through the music scene she discovered free love and became a member of Berlin’s ‘Kommune 1’ where she became involved with their extreme leftist views as well as dating the commune leader. Her rise to fame was fast and thrilling and whilst still young she landed the covers of both Playboy and Stern and became an international sensation. The loneliness of her fast life lead her into the arms of adventurer Dieter Bockhorn who opened her up to the world as they extensively travelled Asia and Africa. Intensely in love they lived an exciting and precarious lifestyle for several years. Life for Germany’s first supermodel was paradise as she lived and loved without a care in the world until it all began to crumble around her. As she matured she faced difficult life changing decisions which had her wondering if she was prepared to pay the price for ultimate freedom.
