Highly inspiring, entertaining adventure based on the journals of Ernesto 'Che' Guevara. Stars Mexican heart-throb Gael Garcia Bernal and nominated for Palme d'Or at 2004 Cannes International Film Festival.
Told in flashback, the movie opens with Nicolas (Jean-Pierre Lorit), once a penniless and easygoing waiter, in prison and a magistrate investigating not how he got there, we know that, but why he got there. One day while working, Nicolas meets powerful businessman Frederic Delamont (Bernard Giraudeau) who asks Nicolas to sample his food and describe the ingredients. Impressed with his response, Delamont offers Nicolas a job (and salary) he cannot refuse, to become Delamont’s personal taster. It soon becomes clear that Delamont wants more from Nicolas. This is an intriguing film about obsession and manipulation.
